Ride Information
Rides are listed in alphabetical order, by ride name if provided, or else by organizer.
| NOTE: "Start time" is when a ride is supposed to get underway. You should arrive a few minutes beforehandearly enough to get signed up, set up, pumped up, and mounted up. By start time you should be on your bike, helmet on, ready to roll. Showing up at the last minute, and expecting others to wait while you get ready, is inconsiderate, and might well get you left behind. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Every Other
Saturday Ride Start time is usually 9:00 a.m. during the warmer months, and 10:00 a.m. during the cooler months, with the switch occurring roughly about the change between Standard Time and Daylight Saving Time. The schedule provided here is subject to change without notice, so take seriously the instructions to contact the leader beforehand to learn of any changes. =SAJ= We leave from the Bicentennial Commons/AK Pavilion on the
Miami river and ride on scenic country roads to
Germantown. We will stop for brunch in Farmersville or Germantown before our ride back to Middletown. We
normally have enough riders to split into 2 speed groups
and take routes that allow us to all arrive at the
restaurant at about the same time. Our faster group rides
an average of about 15-16 and the slower group is about
12-14 mph. There will be a couple long climbs, a couple
long downhills (30+ mph if not braking) along with
rolling hills. Ride distance is 34 - 37 miles depending
on which group you choose to join. |

Sunset Ride
Again, please note that start times change in mid-May and mid-August. This is to allow ample time before sunset to complete 30 miles averaging 15 m.p.h. (Though it rarely happens, a mechanical or traffic problem could delay us until after dark. Therefore, when the margin is narrow, riders are encouraged to bring head- and tail-lights, just in case.)
All rides should be considered tentative, since changeable weather or unforeseen schedule conflicts occasionally interfere. It would be wise to contact me not later than one hour prior to ride time, especially if you must drive in from out of town. All participants must...
